Notes in Gm(add9): G – Bb – D – AFormula: 1 – b3 – 5 – 9In the formula, the numbers count steps of the major scale starting from the note that names the chord; "b" lowers a half step, "#" raises one — and a slash names the bass note.
The minor added ninth keeps the strength of the minor triad and adds openness through the ninth, without the seventh. The result is a modern, emotive minor color.
