Sertanejo — Electric guitar

The electric guitar is not the traditional voice of samba or choro, but it fits MPB and modern arrangements well, adding smooth chords and quiet fills beside the core rhythm instruments. The soundtrack of Brazil's countryside, sertanejo lives on emotional melodies and duet vocals about love, longing and simple living. Here you can browse two paths within the genre: the pop axis, in other words the modern radio-friendly branch, and the classic caipira style, the traditional root it all grew from.
