Fsus4 — suspended 4
Notes in Fsus4: F – Bb – CFormula: 1 – 4 – 5In the formula, the numbers count steps of the major scale starting from the note that names the chord; "b" lowers a half step, "#" raises one — and a slash names the bass note.
In sus4 the third gives way to the fourth, creating a gentle tension that asks to resolve. The F usually falls to E as it returns to the triad.
The same chord on all four instruments
Where to use it: Preparation and resolution to the triad; very common right before an important chord.
