Csus2 chord: suspended 2
Csus2 is the suspended 2 chord on C: C, D and G (1–2–5). Csus2 stacks the root C, the major second D and the perfect fifth G. In sus2 the third is replaced by the second.
Notes in Csus2: C – D – GFormula: 1 – 2 – 5In the formula, the numbers count steps of the major scale starting from the note that names the chord; "b" lowers a half step, "#" raises one — and a slash names the bass note.
Since the third is what defines major or minor, the suspension produces an open, ambiguous color.
