Esus2 — suspended 2
Notes in Esus2: E – F# – BFormula: 1 – 2 – 5In the formula, the numbers count steps of the major scale starting from the note that names the chord; "b" lowers a half step, "#" raises one — and a slash names the bass note.
In sus2 the third is replaced by the second. Since the third is what defines major or minor, the suspension produces an open, ambiguous color.
The same chord on all four instruments
Where to use it: Pop, folk, country and intros; it builds expectation without committing.
Every region of the neck hides more shapes of Esus2. In Chord & Fret, you hear every shape strummed string by string, in each instrument's own voice; open every variation on the neck, grouped by bass note; and change the tuning — the shape rewrites itself.
