C#sus2 — suspended 2
Also written Dbsus2 — the same chord, spelled the other way.
Notes in C#sus2: C# – D# – G#Formula: 1 – 2 – 5In the formula, the numbers count steps of the major scale starting from the note that names the chord; "b" lowers a half step, "#" raises one — and a slash names the bass note.
In sus2 the third is replaced by the second. Since the third is what defines major or minor, the suspension produces an open, ambiguous color.
The same chord on all four instruments
Where to use it: Pop, folk, country and intros; it builds expectation without committing.
