Cmaj7 chord: major seventh
Cmaj7 is the major seventh chord on C: C, E, G and B (1–3–5–7). Cmaj7 stacks the root C, the major third E, the perfect fifth G and the major seventh B. The maj7 adds the major seventh (B, in C) to the major triad.

It is a sophisticated, delicate tonic that can work as a point of rest.
